What is a Wipe in Rust and How to Prepare

Useful

A wipe in Rust is a scheduled server reset that removes player structures, resources, inventories, and sometimes even the entire map. After a wipe, all players start from scratch — with no loot, no base, as if they’ve just joined the game for the first time.

Types of Wipes

  • Full Wipe — resets everything: base, inventory, blueprints
  • Map Wipe — resets map and buildings, blueprints stay
  • Blueprint Wipe — resets learned crafting (rare)

Force Wipe happens every first Thursday of the month. Community servers may wipe weekly or more frequently.

  3. Make a starter plan: barrels → bow → 2x1
  4. Drop all junk — go into wipe light and lean
  5. Prep your squad or plan a solo survival
